The Advantages of Treating Your Employees to a Catered Breakfast

Breakfast, it’s more than “just a meal.” In fact, according to Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D., in an article she wrote on MayoClinic.org, she indicated that those who DO NOT SKIP breakfast are not only able to control their hunger, but they make healthier choices throughout the day, and, most importantly, they have more energy.

And, is that something that you want your employees to have on a daily basis? Energy to do their job…

Unfortunately, many people show up to work without eating breakfast. Even though most realize how important it is to eat, many do not because of how much they have to do in the morning. For example, many parents prefer that their children eat instead of them, or they are too busy getting ready. Although there are many articles floating around on the Internet that discuss how an individual can make sure they eat, you, as an employer, can also ensure that they get to eat (a couple times a month) by offering them a catered breakfast.

You will help increase their energy levels, but it is likely that you will boost employee morale.

Your employees will feel livelier, but they will also feel appreciated because of the sheer fact that you went out of your way to make sure that they ate breakfast. However, if you want to boost energy and morale, it is important to order healthy breakfast food.

According to Health.com, one healthy breakfast option is oatmeal—especially steel-cut oats. In general, oats have beta-glucan, a type of fiber that has been shown to help reduce cholesterol if eaten regularly. What’s more, oats contain potassium, folate, and omega-3 fatty acids—all things that attribute to improving the health of an individual.

Fruits are also something to serve at breakfast. For example, strawberries and blueberries are high in antioxidants, and watermelons (which contain a lot of water) will surely keep someone hydrated.

There is no doubt about it that ordering your employees a catered breakfast (every once in a while) is a treat for them to enjoy. Not only will you make them feel better physically, but you will also make them feel better about working for your company!
