5 Great Themes to Consider for a Company Picnic
Here at Village Catering, we have served as both a picnic catering company in Philadelphia and a corporate catering company in Philadelphia for the past few decades. In fact, we love catering picnics and other outdoor events because it often gives us the chance to share some awesome picnic themes with our clients. If you do happen to be hosting a picnic in the near future, here are some themes we are sure you will love:
Sports
Not everyone likes sports, but most will get in on the fun. A sports-themed picnic can have any traditional picnic food on the menu, but some you definitely should consider are hot dogs, burgers, and chicken breasts. If you choose this theme, don’t forget to have plenty of games and activities available such as volleyball, a football toss, relay races, etc.
Carnival
These days, there are plenty of companies that you can find and rent carnival games and props from. While you can serve all types of food, you can consider serving corn dogs, cotton candy, fried pickles, Oreos, and funnel cakes.
Mardis Gras
A Mardis Gras theme will be ideal for an adult-only event. You can splash the picnic area with tons of purple, yellow, and green, as well as serve up some delicious and colorful frozen drinks. Lastly, don’t forget to have plenty of Mardis Gras beads lying around!
Casino
Another great adult-only theme. You can order some Texas Hold ‘Em, Blackjack, Craps, and Roulette tables, and let everyone have fun wagering and winning fake money or tickets, that they can turn in later for prizes. If you choose this theme, we highly suggest that you serve some cocktails and fancy finger foods.
Around-the-World
If you plan on serving tons of dishes, consider an “Around-the-World” theme. You could decorate tables with the flags and colors of the countries of your choosing, and serve some delectable dishes. Some ideas could be Polish sausage, German potato salad, and Italian cookies for dessert. Plus, you can encourage guests to wear costumes from all over the world!
