Don’t get married during peak wedding season, and don’t get married on Saturday.
It’s likely that you’ve been to plenty of weddings on the weekend and during the summer. Having your wedding any day but Saturday has the potential to save you money, and there is no doubt that having it during the “cooler” times of the year will also help you save. Even though it may be difficult to get everyone to come to a wedding that’s not on the weekend, enough advanced notice will help to ensure all of your guests can be there.
This should be a no-brainer, but, try to have your ceremony and reception at the same place.
These days, most venues will allow you to have both the ceremony and reception on-site. So, if the venue you choose offers that option, we say do it as it will be much more cost-effective for both you and your guests! You won’t have to worry about limos, and your out-of-town guests also won’t have to worry about getting lost.
Have a longer engagement.
Although the ideal plan for many couples is to get married as soon as possible (especially for those who have been dating for years), having a longer engagement will save you money. The longer your engagement is, the more time you will have to find and speak with venues or vendors. More time also means you will have the chance to find a venue and vendors that are in your price range.
