3 Tips to Help Make Your New Year’s Eve Party More Affordable and Fun

While New Year’s Eve parties are simple to plan for some, other people, and especially individuals who are on a budget after hosting a big Christmas Eve or Day lunch/dinner party, may have a difficult time finding ways that they can make this party affordable but still fun. If you were looking for some ways to have an awesome party but not spend too much money, you should take some of the following tips into consideration:

  1. Ask your guests to make and bring some appetizers.

If you want to do less grocery shopping and cooking, consider telling your guests that it is a BYOA (bring your own appetizer) New Year’s Eve party. If you want to ensure that you do not have more than one type of food item at your party, you can even ask your guests to make a specific dish. And, if one of your guest’s doesn’t have the time to cook, you can suggest they bring a fruit or vegetable tray, chips or pretzels, and some dipping sauces.

  1. Make the party later rather than earlier.

If you really want to save money on food and booze you can have the get-together later rather than sooner. This way, most people will already have eaten dinner and maybe had a drink or two, so you will not have to buy a lot of booze or food.

  1. Ask your guests to bring some noisemakers.

Even though most hosts provide noisemakers for their guests, it doesn’t hurt to ask them to bring some old ones. Chances are that a lot of your guests will already have some old ones sitting at home, and the ones that they get from your party will just add to the collection. Plus, you can also have your guests bang on some metal pots and pans!

There are many ways to make it more affordable to have a New Year’s Eve party, but still have a great time. And, if you consider some of these tips above, you will be well on your way to making it happen!
